Who are we Fundraising for ??

our Ashburton Baptist Church
regularly fundraisers for many worthy causes
sometimes for mission with a global mindset
sometimes its for something a whole lot more local

the Playful Market in July 2012
is Fundraising for 5 great causes
these are:

"Empowering communities to develop their own distinctive ways of following Jesus"
.... in particular a couple sharing their faith in God in the Silk Road area

Play Groups, Sunday Club, Amethyst Girls Club & Youth
 Balloon

The Community Care Group co-ordinates projects that provide financial
or other practical assistance for community needs.
Feet

is a small group of women who came together in August 2008 to make a quilt as an expression of love and prayer for a member of the congregation who was in great need.
We are part of Prayers and Squares worldwide, which is an interfaith outreach ministry that combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt.

Looking to the Future by empowering individuals
"Lawamena" is a famous Ambonese word which means "Keep on Moving Forward".
This particular word was chosen simply because we were inspired
to look to the future of Ambon, Maluku, Indonesia
and by working with others we hope to create a better opportunity
for the children and the young people of the land.

This is strictly a non profit organisation
with a sole purpose of providing an education
opportunity for the young people in Ambon.

you can have a little read about a recent mission trip to Ambon, Indonesia
to hear how Lawamena's work impacted on our experience!

Every activity at the Playful Market helps to raise funds for these five worthy causes
..... so come along & contribute to being mission minded both locally & globally
whilst having a whole lot of fun as community while we're at it!!
enJOY .... the journey!!!
